Set up what Mandate watches
Describe your organization, choose your states, and set the topics and search terms that decide what you see.
Everything Mandate recommends comes from three settings. Getting them right is the single biggest thing you can do to get better results.
- Click Settings at the top right of any page. Tracking setup is the first section. You can also click Edit what we track on Recommended or the dashboard.
- About your organization. Describe what you do in plain words, for example "We run three restaurants with bars and outdoor seating, about 90 staff." Mandate uses this to judge impact.
- Where you operate. Pick your states. Your plan sets how many. If you have the Federal add-on, check Federal: Congress and agency rules.
- What to watch. Click Suggest for me to draft topics and search terms from your description, then edit them. Put one per line.
- Click Save changes.
Topics versus search terms
- Search terms are words that would appear in a bill, like "liquor license" or "tip credit". They decide which bills get assessed.
- Topics are the issues you care about, like "Alcohol regulation". They help Mandate judge how much a bill matters to you.
Changes apply to the next scan. Bills already assessed stay where they are.
